My Granddad bought it new in 1997. It was bequeathed to me in 2006 with a mere 61425 miles on it. !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!

You mean to tell me you’re not Jeremy Clarkson’s son?

Two things jump out:
1) in 2018 dollars, that’s about $44k. Seems about right. Those options seem pricy for not much, though
2) I woulda swore that photo of 16-year-old you was also taken in 1997. It’s amazing how teenage guy styles don’t change.

1) I agree with that. Taking a page out of BMWs book on the options.
2) Yeah, that sounds about right.

Nice!! Such gas mileage! Many efficient!
I still have the window sticker for the E46 and Pathfinder, but nothing before that. Wish I did though!

2 door SUV with 3 spoke wheels. The 90's sure were fantastic.

The M3 gets around the same mileage.
Similarities between my first two cars:
Fuel capacity
Fuel economy
Engine capacity

The 550 isn’t a whole lot better tha n that.
Shocking that a 4 3 00 lb TTV8 doesn’t get good mileage.

I don’t have the one for my first car, which was a hand-me-down. However I have this, which was my first (and only) car, which I had from the end of college until it was totaled by flooding last year (no sticker for the new car either):

~$39k, in 2018 dollars, isn’t that bad at all.

I paid a decent amount less than that given incentives and the A-plan employee discount (my uncle worked for Ford most of his career).

I don’t have a window sticker, but MSRP + delivery was $44,050 Canadian for my G35 which the first owner paid in late 2003. Adjusted for inflation that’s $57,415 Canadian !
